That could be a charged BMW i8 MAugust 30, 2019
The Bavarian brand will no longer develop the BMW i8 hybrid car project. Instead, the company will prepare for the production of the Vision M Next concept.
Apparently, the spectacular hybrid car BMW i8 has no future. This was stated by the director of the development of the Bavarian brand Klaus Fröhlich in July this year. The German automaker will focus on the development of its Vision M Next concept. It is reported that the production version of the model should be presented over the next three years. It will be a hybrid sports car, which will be an independent model of the sports division of BMW M.
This means that the hybrid i8, which is one of BMW’s most daring projects ever to appear in production, will probably simply disappear.
And yes, we will never see a more powerful i8 M. But thanks to the new rendering from the team of independent artists Car Lifestyle, we can at least dream about such a car.
The new rendering takes the futuristic style of the current i8 as a basis and adds new elements to it. The black grille in combination with black body paint and lowered suspension give the coupe a menacing look than in the current version of the model. The hood has a pair of ducts, which the usual i8 obviously lacks. We hope that the next hybrid BMW sports car will have about the same appearance that is presented on this render.
In 2009, the German automaker impressed everyone with its Vision EfficientDynamics concept thanks to its radical auto design. Two years later, BMW released the i8 Concept hybrid electric car, which retained much of the futuristic look of the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. Only in 2014 there was a serial version of the model.
