Tested for safety: Nissan Terra or Mitsubishi Pajero Sport?December 9, 2018
Both Japanese SUV tested under the program Asean NCAP, however, with a difference of two years. The experts subjected the car to three tests, among which – a frontal impact on a deformable barrier. Who is behind the belt of a competitor?
Asean NCAP, which tests vehicles sold in the countries of Southeast Asia, conducted a crash test of the Nissan Terra frame SUV as standard. The Asian program, in the creation of which the Malaysian Institute for Road Safety Research has participated, traditionally includes three tests: a frontal impact on a deformable obstacle with 40 percent overlap, a side crash test with a moving car, and a check of the active safety systems of a car on a specially equipped platform.
Two years ago, all these tests passed the main rival Nissan Terra – mid-size SUV Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. This security model has given way to its competitor.
Safety of the driver in both cases was rated as high as possible – five stars, but the level of safety of passengers turned out to be higher with the Nissan Terra – five points against four. Recall Terra became available to motorists in Thailand, China and Indonesia last spring. China’s motorists, for example, pay for the standard equipment of this SUV 169,800 yuan
