Tesla is going to set up production of charging stations for electric vehicles in China. This will happen at the beginning of next year. The move will help the American automaker boost sales at the world’s largest auto market. Last month, the brand sold over 13 thousand electric vehicles in the Celestial Empire.
These are third generation fast chargers known as the Supercharger V3. The investment in the new venture will amount to $ 6.4 million. The new plant will be able to produce 10,000 charging stations annually. Reported by Reuters. In the meantime, equipment for charging electric vehicles arrives in China from America.
Tesla also has big plans for a car factory in Shanghai.
In 2020, the company is to release 150 thousand copies of Tesla Model 3. Some of these cars will go to the European market.
