Truck Tesla Semi drove through the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. A short video demonstrating the car, is published in the tweet of the American manufacturer.

The company Tesla Motors has posted on its tweet a short video, in which the movement shows a prototype of an electric truck Semi. The tractor is traveling in a stream along the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

At the moment, the American manufacturer of electric cars is actively testing the wagon, a serial version of which should appear in 2019. Earlier, the head of Tesla Elon Musk said that trucks in the test mode began to supply the battery packs from the factory Gigafactory (Nevada) to the company for the production of cars in Fremont, California.

For the first time, the prototype of the Tesla Semi electric wagon was shown in November 2017. According to preliminary data, the serial truck will be equipped with four units, the return of which is not yet specified. Without cargo, the wagon can accelerate from a place to 100 km / h in five seconds, and with a trailer weighing 40 tons – in 20 seconds. The top version of the truck can drive without recharging the batteries to 1000 kilometers.

The truck’s running time will be 805 kilometers. To charge the batteries it is planned to use special high-power stations, which will be located in the parking lots of trucks and along the main highways of the United States. For half an hour on such “gas stations” the power reserve will increase from zero to 640 kilometers.

At the moment, Tesla takes pre-orders for the truck. The cost is from 150 thousand dollars. The model has already been ordered by many companies, including PepsiCo, Bee’ah, Anheuser-Busch. The UPS delivery service made the largest order – 125 trucks.

The truck will be launched in 2019.
