Tesla sales surpasses forecasts for the second quarter in a rowJuly 3, 2020
Tesla released a sales report for the second quarter of 2020. During the reporting period, the American automaker was able to sell and deliver to customers 90.65 thousand electric cars.
The volume of sales of the corporation was only 4.8% lower than in 2019, and this is due to the fact that during almost the entire quarter the main California enterprise of the company was closed due to coronavirus. This indicator was significantly higher than analysts’ forecasts. Thus, experts surveyed by FactSet, on average, expected sales of 72,000. Experts surveyed by Bloomberg spoke more boldly, predicting Tesla’s sales volume of 83 thousand electric vehicles.
“Despite the fact that the company in Fremont was closed almost the entire quarter, we managed to get back to the previous level of production,” the statement emphasized in the statement that the corporation submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
So, in the first quarter, Tesla produced about 103,000 cars, in the second – over 82,000. Against this background, the shares of the automobile concern Ilona Mask continued to grow, updating the record of its own value. At the beginning of trading, quotes of the American company increased by 9%, reaching $ 1,221.5
In addition, it was recently noted that Tesla is in the last position in the ranking of quality cars. At the same time, the cars of such brands as Dodge, Kia and Chevrolet turned out to be of the highest quality.
