Tesla raised prices for models S and X due to restyling

Updated cars will appear in early 2021

Buyers of Tesla cars in Europe drew attention to the sharp rise in prices for models S and X. Depending on the country, the cost of electric vehicles increased immediately by 5-6 thousand euros. And this despite the fact that in the United States, prices for Tesla’s flagship models, on the contrary, have been declining in recent weeks.

Officially, the reason for this rise in price is not named. However, as noted by the Electrek.co edition, this may serve as confirmation of rumors about the imminent restyling of both cars.

The fact is that in Europe, orders are now being accepted for electric vehicles, which will arrive no earlier than March 2021. And in the US, the queues are shorter, and you can still get your own electric car this year.

Rumors about restyling the Model S and Model X in early 2021 have been around for a long time. It is expected that the cars will receive a completely new interior and, in fact, a new platform, but externally, this will hardly change. The main difference of the new platform will be a fundamentally different traction battery, which will increase the power reserve. If now the Model S Long Range travels on a single charge up to 658 kilometers, then after restyling this figure will exceed 700 kilometers.

The Model S is the oldest Tesla electric car ever produced. The car is already seven years old, so the need for restyling is really ripe. Moreover, competitors such as Lucid Air are gradually entering the market.
