Tesla plant in Berlin may be completed by mid-2021August 3, 2020
If this happens, it will be great news for both the American electric car manufacturer and for the region, which may start developing more rapidly.
Tesla is renowned for the rapid pace of construction of its factories and businesses. Not so long ago, a plant in Shanghai was put into operation, where work is already in full swing. It is noteworthy that the factory was built in record time. However, Tesla intends to further improve this parameter and bring the plant in Germany into operation even faster.
According to preliminary estimates, construction can be completed by mid-2021. At the same time, not only Tesla gives optimistic forecasts – the Minister of Economy of the Brandenburg region, in which construction is underway, spoke in a similar vein. For Tesla, the imminent opening of a new enterprise in Germany is very important – the German government has taken a very serious course towards the appearance of a large number of all-electric cars in the country and allocates various subsidies for their purchase.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is set to challenge Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes-Benz in the electric car market.
For the regional government, the completion of the project will also be good news, as it will allow the long-awaited airport, which is nearby, to come online faster.
Earlier it became known that at the Tesla plant in Shanghai, about 1,000 additional jobs will appear. Considering the high degree of automation at the enterprise, this is a rather impressive figure. Employees are going to produce the new Model Y crossover.
