Tesla pickup truck can provide itself with electricityNovember 24, 2019
It turns out that the large roof of the American pickup truck, which closes the cabin itself and the cargo platform, is a hefty solar battery. As Elon Musk said, thanks to this exterior element, enough energy can be accumulated daily to cover 24 km.
When you first saw the concept version of the Tesla pickup truck, dubbed Cybertruck, what did you think about this car? Yes, yes, yes, I agree, the appearance of this vehicle is rather strange, but given the fact that this is still a concept that a real car may look like only partially, it’s completely okay.
One of the details that immediately caught my attention was a large plate, which is both a roof in the cabin and a lid for the loading platform at the same time.
Many fans of the American brand were tormented by the question, what is it and why does a truck need such an inclined roof? Indeed, during the official presentation of the car, they did not tell us anything about this exterior element. The most curious ones turned directly to Tesla CEO Elon Musk for a response, to which he replied that this was something other than a huge solar battery.
It turns out that with the help of this roof, which is also a solar panel, enough energy can accumulate daily to cover a truck for 24 km. And in addition, folding panels may also appear in the pickup design, thanks to which, every day, Tesla Cybertruck can recharge itself for 48-64 km per day. Thus, the first pickup truck in the history of the automaker will be able to independently charge its batteries. It is worth noting that the maximum range is 804 km.
It is curious that one of the users of the social network Twitter even suggested that Elon Musk use his website, which collects data on in which areas it is best to charge solar panels.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Tesla showed the ambitious pickup Cybertruck. This electric novelty from Tesla has perhaps become the most talked about for all time. Dozens of renderings, hundreds of assumptions and the main intrigue that the developers carefully concealed.
