The American electric car manufacturer is renowned for its commitment to innovation and new technology. Tesla’s electric cars are proudly called cutting edge, and Tesla is trying to keep that up.

Elon Musk’s company regularly presents bold and extraordinary patents to the public. We’ve already written about the unique laser wipers, and the controversial steering wheel for the updated Model S drew criticism.

Moreover, it was not done without the involvement of supervisory authorities, which promised to check the safety of such an innovation. Now Tesla has defended two more technologies, which we will learn about thanks to the notes on Twitter. We are talking about swivel seats for the driver and front passenger, as well as a movable steering wheel.

The sketch shows us the interior of the car, where the front seats are able to turn 180 degrees at once. Such a free layout required a change in the location of the steering wheel: it is in the center and has nothing to do with the driver’s seat.

All this can mean that the steering wheel itself will not be static: it can be moved after the seat.

There is no information about the patent applications themselves. It is only reported that the proposed technologies can be applied both on cars and SUVs, and on vans and trucks. It is possible that this kind of layout will go to drones.
