Tesla patented magnetic wipersSeptember 11, 2019
They work on the principle of muggle
Tesla has patented wipers of an unusual design. Instead of complex mechanisms with many moving elements, the manufacturer suggested using an electromagnetic system.
The system proposed by Tesla consists of a “beam” with permanent magnets installed in front of the windshield, an electromagnetic moving block and a guide. The movements of the electromagnetic unit are controlled by a separate control circuit that drives the wiper leash along the contaminated area. In fact, the block will act as a muggle, and the neural network will determine the need for cleaning the glass.
In 2018, Tesla filed a patent application, which described the technology of the automated turn-on system. In the description it was indicated that the need for automatic indication of turn will be determined by the computing platform and the ranges of values of the angle of rotation of the steering wheel embedded in it. In this case, the on-board system will be able to determine whether the car is going to change the lane or turn off the road.
In 2014, Tesla opened access to its patents, and the head of the company, Elon Musk, said that he was not going to sue those who “conscientiously use” these technologies. According to Musk, patents serve to “suppress progress”, “consolidate the position of large corporations” and “enrich lawyers”.
