
Tesla may build a third plant in the United States

“I think at some point there will be a third Gigafactory … most likely closer to the northeast. I’m not sure at the moment. Regarding the relocation of Tesla’s headquarters from California, which Musk threatened earlier this year after clashing with local lawmakers, he said “it will require a lot more thought.” He is confident that in the short term, the headquarters will remain in California, and “further will be seen.
Tesla’s CEO declined to blame California for some of its past manufacturing difficulties with paint quality problems reported by customers, instead stating that the company was ultimately responsible for the problems. But he did criticize what he sees as “extremely onerous” in California’s permitting process, blaming local regulators for it.
