Tesla launches production of the most affordable version of the Model Y electric carAugust 4, 2020
While we are talking about a trial run of the conveyor, the mass production of an inexpensive electric Tesla Model Y SUV will not be long in coming.
According to current statistics, June sales of the Tesla Model Y electric crossover reached 7,500 vehicles.
This figure is almost twice the result of the flagship Model X SUV. At the same time, experts expect even greater growth in sales of Model Y electric cars this fall. Currently, this model owns 3.26% of global electric vehicle sales (as of June 2020), but this may change after the appearance of a budget version of the “green” crossover.
We are talking about a modification called Long Range Rear Wheel Drive – it is she who will receive the cheapest price among all current versions of an electric SUV.
According to the specialized media, which cite a source, Tesla has already begun a trial release of the new product. They promise to establish mass production within a month. But it will be possible to pre-order the available Model Y a little earlier. As for the cost of the new item, Elon Musk once announced the figure of 45 thousand dollars.
