Tesla is ready to merge with other automakersDecember 2, 2020
Tesla is interested in merging with other automakers. So far, Elon Musk’s firm has no possible allies in this matter, but if such a question arises, it is ready to consider options.
The head of Tesla, Elon Musk, said this in an interview with billionaire entrepreneur, head of the Axel Springer publishing house, Matthias Döpfner, writes TechCrunch. The interviewer asked Musk if Tesla was considering buying one of its competitors, given the company’s market value is already over $ 500 billion, to which Musk responded:
“We would definitely not go the route of a hostile takeover. However, if anyone thinks that a merger with Tesla would be a good idea, we will certainly talk.”
Note that Tesla is now showing the highest level of market capitalization among all automakers – almost $ 550 billion. For comparison, the capitalization of Toyota (2nd position in the list) is 190 billion, and Volkswagen (closes the TOP-3) – 94.2 billion.
Tesla currently produces four electric cars: the Model S liftback, the Model X and Model Y crossovers, and the Model 3 sedan. In two years, the company intends to bring the Cybertruck pickup to the global market.
