Tesla has stopped selling the budget version of the Model Y electric carFebruary 22, 2021
Tesla has suspended sales of its initial Model Y electric crossover a month after its release. Such information was recently shared by Electrek agency.
The cessation of sales of the basic version is indicated by remote information about the Standard Range model from the official web portal of the American automaker.
Recall that a similar version of the Tesla Model Y is capable of covering a distance of up to 392 kilometers on a single charge. This modification is offered at a cost of $ 42,000.
According to the agency, the fact that this electric car appeared was already a surprise, given that last year the head of the American concern, Elon Musk, spoke critically about the model for its very low power reserve.
It’s worth mentioning that the Tesla Model Y is an electric crossover that was unveiled in March 2019. This model began mass production at an enterprise in the American Fremont in January last year. Note that the main competitor of this car is the Audi E-tron electric car.
In addition, some time ago it was reported that the electric car for $ 4,500 outstripped the American electric car Tesla Model 3 in sales. It should be emphasized that we are talking about the electric city car Hong Guang Mini EV from the Chinese company SAIC-GM-Wuling.
