Tesla has disabled cameras in its carsApril 8, 2021
Elon Musk said that the Chinese authorities should not fear espionage from Tesla’s electric vehicle systems.
Tesla founder Elon Musk recently assured the Chinese government that the cameras installed on the brand’s electric vehicles do not work outside the United States and the authorities should not fear American espionage through these systems. At the same time, the billionaire stressed that even in the United States, the user has the right to turn off the cameras.
As Musk noted, it is not profitable for Tesla to spy on Chinese citizens, since the Chinese market is one of the largest automotive markets in the world. In addition, the company is sensitive to the confidentiality of information not only in the case of residents of the United States, but also with residents of other countries.
We will remind, earlier Tesla was criticized by the Chinese government, which accused the company of spying with the help of numerous cameras built into the brand’s electric cars. In March, the use of Tesla vehicles was banned in areas where military personnel or their families live, as well as near strategically important facilities.
