Tesla has collected over half a million pre-orders for CybertruckFebruary 19, 2020
At the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, information has been published on the number of pre-orders collected for pickups – currently there are over 522,000. According to claims, this information is based on the Cybertruck reservation tracking table with “actual order numbers”. The corporation declined to comment.
The figure of 522 thousand may correspond to reality for some reason. First of all, in November last year, when the acceptance of orders began, Elon Musk announced about 250 thousand applications for the purchase of an electric pickup. Secondly, at the end of 2019, Musk said that the demand for the model is “much higher than the company can release in 3 to 4 years.” However, despite this, information about 522 thousand pre-orders cannot be considered official, since the American brand did not share application numbers for Cybertruck.
The forum actually has a table where there is information about pre-orders: it noted the state, where they made the application from, the checkout date, the order number, and also the pickup version. Judging by the table, most customers opted for a 2-motor variation, with Cybertruck with 3 powertrains having slightly fewer orders.
This is in line with the Tesla report circulated in November 2019. At that time, it was noted that a modification with one electric motor was ordered by 17% of customers, with two – 42%, and with three – 41%.
To apply for the purchase of a new model, you need to pay $ 100. The model is offered with 3 powertrain options.
The cost of starting with one engine on the back starts from $ 39,900, a 2-motor variation – $ 49,900, and a 3-motor – $ 69,900.
