Tesla electric cars may be banned in SwedenJanuary 30, 2019
The stumbling block was the software of electric cars, but rather one of its functions – remote update. Also, the Swedish transport agency had questions for the autopilot.
In Sweden, they intend to ban the sale of “green” cars under the brand Tesla. A local transport agency has become interested in the remote software update feature. Such a modern innovation, which, by the way, on American electric vehicles, is far from being worked out for the first year, according to the regulator, is contrary to the laws of the country. An update package downloaded via the Web may contain a potential threat. Also, transport workers pointed out problems with the autopilot.
If the initiative group can prove a security threat, the Agency will have the right to ban Tesla sales for half a year.
The company Tesla assures that software updates on European cars fully comply with all requirements and standards in force in the EU. In addition, work on improving the safety of cars is conducted throughout the entire period of its operation.
Earlier in his twitter account, Elon Musk said that Tesla stops selling the most affordable versions of the Model S and X.
