Tesla electric cars compared in drag raceAugust 11, 2020
Tesla currently has four models in its range: Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. We are already used to seeing them fight their competitors, but in this video, car enthusiasts figured out which of them will be the winner of the 402- meter straight.
For the competition, enthusiasts have brought together flagship versions of the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X electric cars. Both the Model S and Model X tested also feature a “Cheetah” mode that makes them even faster.
In race one, the Model S kicks out from the start with such force that it hurls the reviewer back into his seat, leaving the Model 3, Model Y, and Model X in the tail. Of course, this is not surprising, since the flagship variants of the Model S have always been the fastest cars of the brand.
What’s interesting is how the performance of the Model 3 and the performance of the Model X are combined. Initially, the much cheaper and lighter Model 3 received and actually held its lead for quite some time. However, as the speed began to pick up, the Model X zoomed past just before the finish line. The Model Y Performance came in last in both drag races.
When the second generation Tesla Roadster finally hits the market, it will be the brand’s fastest model. Until that happens, however, the upcoming Model S with its three electric motors should sit at the top of the Tesla range.
