Tesla does not plan to cut down on the size of the Cybertruck pickup truckMay 24, 2020
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Sunday May 24th that the dimensions of the production version of the Cybertruck electric pickup will be almost the same as the dimensions of the conceptual model shown.
It should be mentioned that Cybertruck debuted in November 2019. The car got an angular design, which most considered ambiguous. 3 variants are offered for order – with one, two and three electric motors. The cost starts at $ 39,900.
According to Musk, a decrease in the size of Cybertruck by even 3% of current values would be excessive. For this reason, the car will basically retain the dimensions of the pre-production version. At the same time, the head of the American corporation admits that in the future the automaker’s lineup will replenish with a more compact pickup.
It should be emphasized that in the current form, the dimensions of the electric pickup are 5885 × 2083 × 1905 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3807 mm. Autonomy on one charge of the battery pack, depending on the configuration, ranges from 400 to 800 km. The flagship variation will be able to accelerate to the first 100 km/h in just about 2.9 seconds.
The Tesla Cybertruck electric car should begin to be mass-produced next year.
In addition, it was recently noted that Tesla will build its new plant in the United States. It will be located in Texas.
