Tesla car sales set new recordOctober 3, 2020
This result was recorded at the end of the third quarter of 2020.
The press service of the American electric car manufacturer Tesla has shared data on sales of new cars of the brand for the third quarter. The volume of production amounted to 145,000 units, of which 140,000 units found buyers. Such data indicates that the company has almost completely recovered from the effects of the pandemic.
Indeed, according to analysts’ forecasts, sales for the quarter should have been at the level of 120,000 copies. In terms of models, the Model 3 / Y had 128,044 units and the Model S / Xs were sold 16,992 times. Recall that last year Tesla’s results were much more modest – in the third quarter of 2019, the brand’s dealers sold only 97,000 cars.
And in the crisis second quarter of 2020, sales amounted to only 82,000 copies.
Earlier, it was reported that Tesla electric cars will be sold in India. Such rumors appeared after the release of special T-shirts, and a little later, Elon Musk confirmed that the start of sales is planned for 2021. With Indian government subsidies for electric car parts, the start of sales could be very successful.
