Tesla against two planes, a racing car and a superbikeSeptember 21, 2018
Within the framework of the Festival of Aerospace Technologies in Istanbul, an unusual race took place. It was prepared for participation in the Electirc GT series Tesla Model S, two airplanes, a superbike, a Formula 1 car and two sports cars. The participants had to go first on the runway of the New Airport (Istanbul New Airport), showing the best time on a segment of a quarter mile (402 meters).
Tesla Model S P100DL, corresponding to the current technical regulations of the racing series for series electric vehicles (EPCS), is characterized by an extended body and is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 789 horsepower and 995 Nm of torque. The first 100 km/h such a machine is exchanged after 2.1 seconds, and its maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
Other participants in the race: Aston Martin Vantage (510 hp), Lotus Evora 410 (416 hp), Kawasaki Ninja H2R superbike with 310 horsepower (195 Nm torque), Red Bull Racing RB14, F-16 fighter of the SoloTürk aerobatic team The Turkish Air Force and the Challenger 605 business jet (two General Electric CF34-3A turbojets with 40.7 kilo-ton thrust each).
