Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami remains in the Honda LCR team at least until the end of 2020. The team announced the formal signing of the contract.
After a long period of negotiations, LCR and Nakagami reached an agreement. Japanese racer for some period was one of the few pilots who do not have a contract for the next season. The situation has changed for the Japanese. The next season, Takaaki will perform on the prototype Honda RC213V 2019, although he really wanted to get a prototype in 2020.
After Motegi, the Japanese rider had surgery on his right shoulder. He has to undergo a rehabilitation course before proceeding with the pre-season tests. You can say that Takaaki has already forgotten about the current season.
Takaaki Nakagami: “First, I remain on the Honda LCR team. This season did not work out well, but the manufacturer gives me tremendous support and provides a strong motorcycle. I am sure that together we can achieve more in 2020. As for the injury, after Assen acted with pain and discomfort in the shoulder. I went to the doctors to clarify the situation. Could have come forward with this damage, but the situation was not perfect. For this reason, together with Honda and LCR decided to make the operation direct now. ”
