Suzuki will release only 30 copies of the Swift Sport Katana hatchMay 8, 2019
Suzuki company produces both cars and motorcycles. She decided to combine both worlds in the hatchback Suzuki Swift Sport Katana, which will be released in limited edition.
The novelty was created in honor of the Suzuki Katana motorcycle series, which has been leading its history since 1981. For a long time, the Japanese company did not produce bikes of this line, but in 2018 Katana was revived with the release of the new version. It is made in retro design and equipped with a 1.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 150 hp.
In the guise of Suzuki Swift, the Sport Katana doesn’t remind too much of motorcycles, but there are enough changes regarding the standard version. Only two corporate colors are offered for the car: Premium Silver Silver Metallic gray and Super Black Pearl black. In addition, the longitudinal stripes on the hood and the graphics on the doors are noticeable on the body.
On the rear racks of the roof of each Swift Sport Katana is the serial number of the car: only 30 copies will be produced. However, they will all be sold in the Netherlands.
The hatchback is shod in 18-inch black OZ wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. The interior can be noted as having a unique steering wheel with a thicker girth, as well as a lot of branding.
The manufacturer was stingy with technical changes. For the Swift Sport Katana, the suspension was understated, the rear beam was refined and a new exhaust system was selected. Otherwise, this car is no different from the standard. Under the hood is a 1.4-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 141 hp. Paired with a 6-speed manual, it can accelerate a small five-door from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds. The maximum speed is 210 km / h.
The initial price of Swift Sport Katana is € 28,999. Meanwhile, the simple version of Swift Sport costs € 24,999, which means they ask for € 3,000 for a package of improvements.
