Suzuki unveils 2020 V-Strom 1050 and 1050XTNovember 14, 2019
The Japanese company introduced a completely updated travel enduro V-Strom 1050 2020. Designers are reportedly inspired by the Dr-Z800 and DR800S motorcycles, better known as DR-Big, who participated in the Dakar rally.
The angular square shapes of the bike combine perfectly with modern solutions. Head-mounted LED optics fit well with the design of the V-Strom 1050 2020, it was borrowed from the new version of Suzuki Katana presented last year.
The novelty traditionally uses a V-twin engine, but with an increased volume of up to 1037 cm3. The new power plant develops a capacity of 106 horsepower. Torque data has not yet been disclosed.
Moreover, the new version of V-Strom will also receive the electronics S. I. R. S., which works with the help of a three-axis IMU. The tourist enduro is equipped with a three-level traction control, an angular ABS system, four riding modes, cruise control, an assistance system when starting on an ascent and braking control.
The dashboard has also been redesigned. It displays all the necessary information, but in the same classic style. You will not surprise anyone with TFT or touch screens on a motorcycle, but Suzuki decided to be inspired by the past by introducing a liquid crystal display.
V-Strom 1050 2020 will be available in three trim levels: regular, V-STROM 1050XT and V-STROM 1050XT Adventure. The latter two, in turn, are distinguished by spoke wheels, another windshield, special liveries and various additional accessories.
