Suzuki to equip Swift with new hybrid motorSeptember 2, 2020
Earlier mild hybrid technology was introduced for the Swift Sport modification. Now it’s the turn of the classic version.
The Japanese company Suzuki is actively converting its cars to hybrid power plants. On Wednesday, September 2, it became known about a new version for the Suzuki Swift car. Recall that it all started with the Ignis model, which received 1.2 Smart Hybrid after the update. A little later, the mild hybrid technology was used for the Swift Sport – in this case, the 1.4 Boosterjet engine is used, which has a power of 140 hp.
For the classic Suzuki Swift, the 1.2 Smart Hybrid option was chosen, which has only 83 hp. However, such an engine will offer a number of important advantages. An indisputable factor in its favor for car owners will be the average gas mileage, which in the combined cycle will not exceed 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers. It is also worth noting the low CO2 emissions into the atmosphere – no more than 111 g / km. Many feared that with the advent of the new Suzuki Swift engine, it would become heavier, which would affect its dynamics. However, its weight was only 840 kg.
The hybrid engine will be installed on 3 different vehicle trim levels – Comfort, Select and Style. The first to hit the market is the Style version, which will cost 20,650 euros.
From the technical equipment, it is worth noting alloy wheels with a diameter of 16 inches, headlights with LED filling, and the Style version will have an ultra-modern multimedia system with a lot of functions. A CVT will operate as a hybrid drivetrain.
Meanwhile, Suzuki presented the updated Spacia kei car. The main innovations were an expanded set of body shades, as well as the appearance of additional options and technical equipment.
