According to preliminary information, the new generation of subcompact SUV Suzuki Jimny will debut on July 5. This became known due to the insider leakage of one of the dealers.

Although earlier it was said that Jimny will be released at the end of this year, but new information has appeared. Thus, the subcompact SUV can debut on July 5, 2018.[IP]&ua=[UA]&domain=[DOMAIN]&page=[PAGE]&secure=[SECURE]&language=[BROWSER_LANGUAGE]&bidfloor=[BIDFLOOR]&gdpr_consent=[GDPR_CONSENT]

This information was published by the Indian Autos blog, with reference to own sources in the management of one of the dealer centers. In addition, there was another interesting information – the next generation will receive a new modification – Jimny Sierra. However, now there is no information about a previously unknown version, and probably before the official presentation will not appear.

Judging by the preliminary images, test prototypes, as well as insider information – the fourth generation Jimny will receive a neo-retro design with an angular appearance. The SUV will receive a body kit with massive wheel arch extensions, round headlights, as well as a massive front bumper with integrated fog optics and a wide air intake. It looks like a child Mercedes G-Class – but it’s less brutal and decorated in bright colors.

Previously, the network also showed photos of the interior, showing a rather ascetic design, which will be inscribed: an infotainment system with a touch screen, a simple instrument panel with round wells, as well as the simplest round deflectors of air ducts.

As a power unit under the hood, Jimny will receive a 0.66-liter R06A gasoline engine in Japan to meet the requirements for the Kei segment car (for tax breaks). In other countries, Jimny can get a 1.0-liter K10C Boosterjet with a turbocharger, a 1.2-liter K12C DualJet, or a 1.2 L K10B.

The new generation will still be built on a frame base, which will retain full off-road qualities, further enhanced by the company’s all-wheel drive system Suzuki AllGrip 4×4. Cost unfortunately is still unknown.
