Supercar Chevrolet Corvette will receive an electric all-wheel drive systemSeptember 12, 2020
According to preliminary data, such a car may appear in 2023.
American supercar Chevrolet Corvette headed for electrification. On Saturday, September 12, GM-Trucks reported that the eighth generation Chevrolet Corvette will get all-wheel drive. And it will become electric. It is noteworthy that representatives of General Motors did not initially make statements about the electrification of their supercar.
Information was found in the documents for the car that suggests such a possibility. After that, information about the appearance of an electric all-wheel drive system did not come as a surprise.
Electric motors will appear on the front axle of such a car, and the Grand Sport prefix will be located at the back. The debut of such a system should be expected by 2023. At the same time, the all-wheel drive system is not a hybrid – it can be available as an option and is designated eAWD.
It is expected that the engine for such a car will use a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with a return of 600 horsepower.
Earlier it became known that Chevrolet began testing a version of the Corvette supercar with right-hand drive. During the tests, many talk about unusual sensations, however, it is this arrangement that will allow residents of several countries to enjoy driving.
