The Japanese brand is ready to present a new limited edition WRX STI series, which will be limited to only 450 copies and will be offered exclusively in America.

Subaru company for the first time decided to release a “charged” sedan in a limited edition for the American market. Subaru WRX STI S209 will be presented already on January 14, but for now we are offered to watch a teaser image showing a car without camouflage in a new kit. Previous special versions with indices R205, S206, S207 and S208 were offered exclusively in the home market.

Judging by the photo, the novelty will receive extended wheel arches, a new front bumper, a new radiator grille with red trim and an S209 nameplate, as well as a large rear wing. You can also note the traditional “hood” of the air intake on the hood and new alloy wheels with low profile tires.

While Subaru does not specify the details of the future news, but judging by the predecessor of the S208, the motor will receive additional power and will be able to develop up to 324 horsepower and 433 Nm of torque. Transmission and drive will remain the same. The front suspension will be adjustable, the rear will receive a reconfiguration, but will remain “fixed” by Bilstein, a new subframe will also be installed and the steering wheel will be adjusted. An equally important addition will be a modified brake system with Brembo calipers.

The cost has not yet been reported, and all the details will be disclosed only on the presentation.
