Subaru will bring to Geneva new hybrids for the European marketFebruary 12, 2019
As part of the March Geneva Motor Show, the company will present two models of the new e-boxer line. These will be the first Subaru hybrids on the European market.
As part of the upcoming motor show in March 2019, Subaru will take an active part. This year the company has big plans for the European market. They include the expansion and updating of the model line, as well as the presentation of their own hybrids.
Within the framework of the car show, two hybrids from the e-boxer line will be presented, but the models themselves are not yet named. In all likelihood, the company will not bring completely new models, but will introduce benzo-electric modifications already present in the local market. At the moment, Subaru offers hybrids only in Japan and the United States.
Unfortunately, the information is really not much, and so far we can not imagine what exactly will be presented in Europe. It can be assumed that the base of the power plant will fall into the famous 2.0-liter boxer engine, capable of developing about 150 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque. Together with him will work the electric motor installed in the interval between the internal combustion engine and the CVT. The power of the electric motor, by analogy with the hybrid Forester, will be about 15 horsepower and 65 Nm of torque.
Also note that this will be a system of “soft” hybrid without the possibility of recharging from the network. Fuel economy will be quite insignificant.
