Subaru unveils sporty 2022 BRZ in videoNovember 14, 2020
The press service of the Japanese automaker has released a video showing the 2022 Subaru BRZ sports coupe driving on a country road. The debut of new items should take place on November 18.
The refreshed 2022 Subaru BRZ is due to be fully unveiled on November 18 and we can’t wait to see the legendary next-generation sports coupe. Subaru isn’t quite ready to reveal all the secrets about the new BRZ just yet, so for now we’ll have to settle for this artfully edited teaser video.
The next generation BRZ uses a slightly modified version of the current generation BRZ platform, which will fix many of the shortcomings of the current model. We expect Subaru to make improvements while maintaining the excellent handling characteristics of the current generation BRZ.
The biggest changes are to come in the interior and exterior design and the composition of the motor range.
Many speculate that Subaru’s new larger 2.4-liter boxer engine will find its way into the second-generation BRZ, but this has yet to be officially confirmed. Subaru offers its 2.4-liter boxer engine in both supercharged and turbocharged versions. The car captured in this teaser video (at the 18 second mark) sounds like its engine is using a turbocharger.
The interior of the new BRZ will undoubtedly undergo a “major overhaul” as the interior of the car has changed rapidly since the first generation BRZ debuted in 2012. We expect to see better integration of modern technologies and a more holistic design language by comparison. As for the exterior, the “spy” shots show the classically beautiful silhouette of a two-door coupe.
