Subaru Outback in off-road version first spotted in trialsJanuary 14, 2021
While Subaru has yet to announce any new products for 2021, Motor1’s spies have been able to capture an off-road version of the Outback for the first time.
This modification of the Outback will receive the Wilderness Edition prefix to the name and will have a high ground clearance. One can also assume the presence of a rigid suspension, which will allow the model to overcome off-road conditions. Judging by the photo, the camouflaged test concept has large off-road tires, a revised front fascia with a modified radiator grille and relocated fog lights.
At the stern, only the bumper is covered with camouflage film, while in general it looks like on the current model. As for the technical equipment of the upcoming novelty, its engine range may include two engines: a 2.5-liter unit (standard) and a 2.4-liter turbo engine (optional). However, the possibility of using one of these motors cannot be ruled out.
Speaking of the Outback Wilderness Edition, it will likely use original accents to maintain the off-road exterior styling. It is assumed that the Japanese company will demonstrate the novelty in the second half of 2021.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that a video was published on YouTube, which demonstrates the rather fast acceleration of the tuned Subaru Forester STI crossover. It should be emphasized that this car has a 340-horsepower engine.
