Steeper than Lamborghini and Bentley. Porsche develops the most powerful SUVApril 1, 2019
During a recent interview with Evo magazine, Porsche Executive Director Oliver Blum confirmed that the new Cayenne SUV is in development and will be equipped with the same powerplant as the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
It is not yet known whether Porsche will make any changes to the engine before putting it on the Cayenne, but we know for sure that the new Turbo S E-Hybrid will become the most powerful off-road vehicle of the VW Group concern, beating even the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga.
Porsche introduced the most powerful Panamera in September 2017, equipping the model with a 4-liter V8 with 542 horsepower and an electric motor, additionally developing another 134 hp, which gives the car a total power of 671 hp. and 850 Nm of torque.
This engine allows the Panamera to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 310 km / h, and in addition, the car can travel with clean electrical power up to 50 kilometers.
However, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid can become the most powerful Volkswagen Group SUV only for a short time, since the Lamborghini is already working on a hybrid version of Urus, and will release it later this year. There is a possibility that Urus will use a modified version of the same 4-liter twin turbocharged V8 from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
