Started production of the fastest hypercar SSC TuataraJune 29, 2019
It is noteworthy that since the first presentation of the SSC Tuatara hypercar, eight years have passed. This is the fastest serial hypercar on the planet. Deliveries are scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
The American company SSC North America has finally matured to start mass production of its most powerful hypercar Tuatara. It is reported that the car is not just “powerful”, it can rightfully become the most powerful production car in the world. The car will get this title if it can beat the record of the Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg Agera RS.
According to representatives of the SSC North America brand, the first customer who pre-ordered the SSC Tuatara hypercar will receive it in the third quarter of this year. Eight years have passed since the presentation of the car in Pebble Beach in 2011 and before the start of mass production.
The name of the American hypercar was taken from the legends of the indigenous people of New Zealand. It is worth noting that initially, under the hood, the SSC Tuatara should have had a V-shaped engine with eight cylinders with a working volume of 6.9 liters and two turbo-compressors, however, the engineers of the brand decided to replace it with a 5.9-liter analogue V8 with liquid cooling, also a special injection system – two nozzles on one cylinder.
According to representatives of the company, when using gasoline with a standard octane number, the maximum power of the engine is 1350 hp, but if you use E85 benzoethanol mixture, this figure immediately increases to an impressive 1750 hp. The time to overcome the first 100 km/h is 2.5 seconds, and the maximum possible speed will be equal to 483 km / h. Hypercar weighs only 1247 kg.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the SSC published a video from the tests of the 1750-hp Tuatara hypercar.
