Started accepting orders for the new electric crossover Volkswagen ID.4January 14, 2021
The German automaker will begin taking orders for its new car Volkswagen ID.4 in China from January 19 this year.
According to information at the disposal of speedme.ru, the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture will begin accepting pre-orders for the new all-electric crossover Volkswagen ID.4 on January 19 this year. The cost of the car, taking into account subsidies, will not exceed 250 thousand yuan.
Outwardly, the novelty for the Chinese market will look exactly the same as for Europe. A number of elements will be an exception, for example, license plates of a different shape and another false radiator grille. The interior will not undergo any changes compared to the global version of the car.
As it became known to the edition speedme.ru, the re-equipment of the Emden plant for the production of electric vehicles has already begun, and from 2022 the first electric vehicles will begin to roll off the assembly line. The new ID.4 electric compact SUV will be the first to be assembled at the Lower Saxony plant.
The plant will continue to produce the Passat sedan, as well as the Arteon liftback and the Arteon Shooting Brake station wagon “during a transition period of several years.” We expect this to last until the next generation models are released, after which they will be produced in Bratislava, Slovakia.
As a reminder, the ID.4 will be equipped with a single motor on the rear axle in the basic version, and an all-wheel drive arrangement with two engines in more expensive versions. As with the ID.3, customers will likely be able to choose from multiple battery packs, with a range of at least 400 km.
