SsangYong Korando of new generation already on road testsJune 13, 2018
The South Korean concern brought a new generation of its own crossover to road tests. And the photo spy was able to make detailed photos of the camouflaged prototype.
The network has photos of the test prototype of the new version of SsangYong Korando. Apparently, the car is already in the production body, and passes the final test. Despite the tight camouflage and numerous false panels, you can still consider some details. Among other things, the spies managed to photograph the interior design.
Judging by the photos, a new version of the SUV (the next generation will be applied to the 2019 model year) will receive a highly redesigned interior and exterior design. Inside, a completely new front panel is visible, in which a large display of the infotainment system will be integrated. Also seen is a new steering wheel, rectangular duct deflectors, electronic parking brake, and a new control unit for the climate system.
Unfortunately, the camouflage is quite dense, but there is already a clear similarity to the e-SIV concept car shown in Geneva. But it is also noticeable that the serial version will receive a more standard design. The front optics are made in a more classical style, the front plug will still become the grille, and the rear end will also change a lot. But the overall concept of the car remains the same.
According to preliminary information, SsangYong Korando 2019 model year is built on the basis of a new platform. The car will receive a more rigid body, and at the same time it will become easier.
As a power unit can be used a motor line of two petrol (1.2 and 1.5 liters) and one diesel engine (1.6 liters). Later, a hybrid version may appear without the possibility of recharging from the network. Together with the engines will be offered as an automatic, and a manual transmission. As an option, you can pay for the full drive.
