SsangYong presented the fourth-generation Korando crossover at the Geneva Motor Show. Car sales in Europe should begin this summer. New positioned as a competitor Nissan Qashqai.

The amount of luggage, which can be equipped with a door on an electric drive, amounted to 551 liters. The driver has access to the monitoring system of “blind” zones, the emergency braking function and the restraint system in the lane. The car is also equipped with a TomTom navigation system and adaptive cruise control.

The crossover is offered with a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine. Power of the unit is 165 horsepower. Also in the range of engines included a 1.6-diesel unit with a return of 136 horsepower. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or a robotic transmission with the same number of stages. The car received an independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension.

Later, the novelty will receive a fully electric version. All details about this modification of the crossover are kept secret. At the moment it is only known that it will go on sale in 2020. One of the company’s top managers said that the electric Korando would be “a huge step forward, even compared to the current model.”

At the last Geneva Motor Show, SsangYong showed the conceptual crossover e-SIV with an electric unit developing 190 horsepower. The maximum speed of the crossover is 150 km per hour. A set of batteries allows you to travel without recharging up to 450 kilometers. At the same time, the battery reserve can be replenished by 80% in just 50 minutes.
