Spotted the prototype of the all-new BMW M3 sedanApril 9, 2020
Journalists saw a test prototype of the updated version of the high-performance BMW M3 sedan. In this video we can hear the “wild roar” of the new motor.
It is worth noting that by now, foreign journalists have met a huge number of prototypes of the next generation BMW M3, which should receive the in-plant index G80. This time, the car was spotted by the United States, namely in California. And yes, this is certainly not the best “spy” video with the new version of the “charged” sedan, but in this video we hear the menacing growl of an in-line six-cylinder engine, which received the code designation S58.
Judging by the green sticker in the lower left corner of the windshield, this is a car of German specifications, so it’s a little surprising why BMW is testing it at night in California (USA).
Apparently, the driver of this test M3 noticed the journalists and decided to show us what a 3.0-liter in-line turbo engine is capable of. It is known that the inline six will be available in several configurations.
BMW has already announced that it will offer its new high-performance sedan with a choice between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, as well as a choice between a manual or automatic transmission. XDrive all-wheel drive will be available exclusively with an automatic transmission.
We expect the latest Bavarian “athlete” M3 to be able to produce about 473 hp. in the standard version and about 503 hp performed by Competition. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h for the latter is expected at three seconds. The maximum speed will be 285 km / h. The official presentation of the car will be held at the end of this year.
