Peugeot is preparing to launch its new era with a sports sedan, which is designed to impose competition on such cars as the Audi S4 and Mercedes-AMG C43, and has already presented the concept of the 508 Sport Engineered model at the Geneva Motor Show in the mat this year.
It is expected that Peugeot will present the final production version of the sports car already in 2020, and moreover, the first intriguing details about the 508 Sport powerplant have become known.
Peugeot intends to unite the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 197 horses with two electric motors – one, on the front axle, will produce 107 hp, and the second, on the rear, with a capacity of 197 horsepower. As for the total power of the power plant, it should provide 355 hp, working in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission and electric all-wheel drive.
At the moment, the dynamic characteristics of the model are unknown, but as an example, you can take the data of the 508 Sport Engineered concept, which accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250 km / h, limited by electronics. At the same time on a pure electric vehicle can drive up to 50 kilometers.
Due to the additional weight of the 11.8 kW battery, the sporty 508 will receive a redesigned and enhanced suspension, as well as possibly other technical improvements, including larger wheel rims and a more powerful braking system.
