Sports Toyota 86 received an exclusive performance of Black LimitedMarch 12, 2020
The Japanese company has released a special edition of its Toyota 86 sports coupe. The car will only be available for the Japanese domestic market. The new performance is created as a tribute to the iconic AE86 Black Limited.
In January 1986, Toyota introduced the AE86 Black Limited as the latest version of an affordable sports car that many have fallen in love with. The novelty was based on the luxurious configuration of the GT-Apex. The car was offered exclusively in the back of a three-door hatchback with a black body and gold wheels, complemented by a strip made in the same shade.
Toyota decided to pay tribute to AE86 Black Limited earlier this year when it introduced the 86 Black Limited concept – a presentation took place in January 2020 at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Like the Black Edition shown in the last century, the new limited edition version of the Toyota 86 lives up to its nickname, being offered exclusively in black. The machine is equipped with 17-inch bronze rims with Brembo ventilated brakes, a spoiler for extra downforce, and SACHS shock absorbers to increase ride comfort and stability. Toyota also refined the bottom of the car to improve airflow, and if desired, will use a bronze strip with the inscription AE86 Black Edition.
The interior complements the bodywork mainly in black with subtle bronze accents. The perforated front seats are covered in leather and Alcantara, and suede faux leather is applied to the dashboard.
Toyota 86 in the Black Edition version will be limited to only 86 copies. Available for order starting today, the manual transmission version costs 3,518,000 yen, while the automatic transmission model is priced at 3,586,000 yen.
