Sports coupe Toyota GR 86 version of 2022 appeared on the renderNovember 22, 2020
An amateur render of the updated sports coupe Toyota GR 86 2022 model year has appeared on the Web. The virtual novelty is based on the already presented Subaru BRZ, with which, as you know, they are essentially the same car.
The 2022 Subaru BRZ has already been unveiled. While Subaru’s only rear-wheel-drive car basically gives us an idea of what the upcoming Toyota GR 86 will look like, it’s very nice to have a look at this fan-made render from Motor.es.
Obviously, this image is based on the official images of the new BRZ – with minor changes of course.
In addition to another nameplate, the car received a different set of rims, as well as a false radiator grille, which resembles another Toyota sports car, the GR Supra. We doubt this a little, however, as recent spy shots showing prototypes of the novelty showed us a wider opening, close to the one opened in the BRZ.
The next generation of the Toyota 86 sports coupe will use a horizontally positioned naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 228 horsepower (249 Nm). These numbers represent a healthy leap in power over the previous model.
The next-generation Toyota GR 86 will go on sale in the 2022 model year. An earlier insider report confirmed a global debut in July 2021.
