Sport Audi S6 and S7 received diesel electric versionsApril 11, 2019
Audi introduced the “charged” S-versions of the S6 sedan and station wagon, as well as the new-generation S7 hatchback, which will now be offered for the first time with diesel engines. In this case, the power units will work according to the “soft hybrid” scheme.
New items received the same powerplant as the TDI version of the SQ5 sports crossover. The cars are equipped with a three-liter heavy-fuel V6 unit with a traditional turbine and an electric-drive compressor, powered by a 48-volt on-board network and lithium-ion batteries installed in the bottom.
The supercharger on the electric drive is designed to level the delay of the turbine at low engine speeds. Transmission – eight-speed “automatic”. The system of all-wheel drive, if necessary, is able to transfer up to 70% and 85% thrust to the front and rear axle, respectively.
Units give 349 liters. with. and 700 N · m of torque. The S6 sedan is able to accelerate from the spot to the first “hundred” in five seconds, while the S7 wagon and hatchback type 100 km / h by one tenth of a second slower. The maximum speed is forcibly limited by electronics at 250 km per hour.
The standard equipment of the sedan, wagon and hatchback includes adaptive spring shock absorbers, and air suspension is available at an additional cost. All cars are equipped with six-piston brakes with 400-mm discs, and as an option carbon-ceramic mechanisms are offered.
