Special version of Kia EV6 completely sold out in the USAJune 10, 2021
A limited edition of 1,500 First Edition EV6 EV6s was fully reserved the day Kia announced it would begin taking orders for it. Delivery to local dealers is expected in Q1 2022.
It was originally planned to open a booking on June 3, but due to technical difficulties the booking site was unavailable. To give all potential owners an equal chance to be the first to see EV6, the booking site reopened yesterday, with the company managing to improve its bandwidth.
The First Edition was offered with a choice of three gifts – a car charger for the home, a 1,000 kWh credit on the national charging network, or an Apple Watch to connect to the Kia Connect EV6 suite of services. Over 81% of pre-order members chose a home charger.
The Kia EV6 First Edition was available in three color combinations – Urban Yellow with black seats, Glacier (white) with dark green seats and Steel Gray Matte with black seats, with an exclusive Urban Yellow body color and dark green seats in the Glacier variant.
Inside, the Special Edition features illuminated door sills with ‘First Edition’ lettering, individual serial number to highlight the exclusivity of the model, head-up display with augmented reality, remote intelligent parking assistance, sunroof, 20-inch wheels, premium Meridian audio system with 14 speakers, as well as a twin-engine power plant and 77.4 kWh batteries.
“Kia welcomes the first EV6 buyers to join us in this historic movement,” said Sean Yun, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “Kia’s electric lifestyle is a unique blend of luxury, performance and technology, and the EV6 First Edition will provide owners with a unique experience.”
