Special Renault Clio RS devoted to an unrepresented Formula 1 carJanuary 11, 2018
Renault has introduced a special version of the charged hatchback Clio RS, which is called the 18th. The model was dedicated to the factory production team of the French automaker in Formula 1, which will feature in 2018. Renault racing car is not yet presented.
Special gear, painted in black, received a number of yellow accents on the body – on the bumper, sidewalls and caps of hubs. The salon is equipped with polished leather and armchairs. The same materials are finished with a steering wheel. In addition, on the thresholds there were signs indicating a special modification.
The Renault Clio RS 18 is based on the hottest version of the Hot Hatch – Trophy. From the base model it features an increased engine power (from 200 to 220 horsepower), reduced clearance by 20 millimetres to the front and 10 millimetres to the rear, with other springs and shock absorbers, and also with the Torque Boost function, which increases the traction by 20 Nm temporarily.
Sales of a special modification of Clio will begin in Europe in the first half of this year. What edition will be released model is not specified.
Renault has repeatedly made hot hatches in honour of Formula One teams. In 2012, the car manufacturer showed Clio RS, dedicated to the Red Bull team, which the company supplied motors. In 2011, debuted the Clio RS, created with the Williams team. In both cases, we are talking about models of the previous generation.
