Soon there will be three models from Audi Sport with powerful diesel TDIApril 11, 2019
The press service of Audi Sport has published information that the S6 in the sedan and station wagon, as well as the S7 Sportback, will soon be available. Under their hood will be a powerful diesel engine TDI.
The Audi Sport sports division has three new S models in its current portfolio. We are talking about the S6 sedan, the S6 station wagon and the S7 Sportback models, which by their very existence refute the rumors that the company’s management is going to completely abandon diesel engines. Back in May 2011, data appeared on three new models equipped with a TDI diesel engine, after which this rumor was repeated in September 2017. Now received a formal application from the German brand.
At the heart of these three cars is a 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine with an electric compressor and a 48-volt hybrid system to reduce fuel consumption and increase productivity.
Why does this sound familiar? Because the recently introduced “charged” SQ5 TDI crossover for the European market has a similar powerplant with an identical torque of 700 Nm, available at the same 2500 rev / min. However, the power is slightly different – in the new S6 and S7 models it is 349 horsepower, while the performance of the crossover is 347 hp.
As for performance, the S6 sedan with its acceleration up to 100 km / h in 5 seconds is the fastest of these innovations, while the S6 Avant and S7 Sportback can reach that speed for an additional tenth of a second, as they are a bit heavier. In all cases, the electronic maximum speed limiter is at around 250 km / h.
