Skoda will release gas-fired OctaviaMarch 10, 2020
The appearance of new items was announced for the second half of 2020.
The Czech company Skoda will soon launch the production of the Octavia model on gas fuel, the car will receive the G-TEC index. Octavia will join the Scala and Kamiq models, which already have similar versions. Gas-fueled cars are currently a kind of alternative to electric cars, while the infrastructure for them is not fully developed.
It is believed that the use of liquefied gas as a fuel can reduce harmful emissions by at least 25% compared with classic ICEs, and in the case of biomethane and synthetic gas this figure approaches 90-100%. In a press release, Skoda already reported that the Octavia G-TEC is in no way inferior to the counterpart to the classic ICE.
The company’s management plans to leave the gas Octavia, Scala and Kamiq for at least several years.
Under the hood of the Skoda Octavia G-TEC is a 1.5-liter engine with a return of 130 hp. The developers managed to increase the tank capacity by 9 liters – thus, without refueling, the car can overcome 480 km of track.
