Skoda will release a new crossover Kushaq
January 7, 2021Also, a Skoda representative shared teasers of the new car.
The Czech company Skoda has decided on the name of its new crossover, which will debut in March 2021. The car will be named Kushaq, which fits into the concept of the brand’s crossover names. They all begin with the Latin letter “K” and end with “Q”. Translated from Sanskrit, this name is translated as emperor.
It is expected that India will become the main automotive market for the new product, but the model will be global. Skoda Kushaq will be based on a modular platform MQB-A0-IN manufactured by the Volkswagen Group. There is no other technical information about the new car yet – it will probably have to wait until the official premiere.
If we start from the teaser image, then we can draw some conclusion about the style of the new car. Most likely, it will be based on the Vision IN concept car, which debuted in 2020.
It is noteworthy that the length of the prototype is 4 256 mm – the cross is quite compact, but still larger than we are used to seeing in the Indian market.
The distance between the axles of Vision IN is 2 671. The main competitors of the novelty are the crossovers Hyundai Creta and KIA Seltos.
