Skoda will release a hybrid version of Octavia RSJanuary 24, 2020
The Czech automaker announced the release of a “charged” version of the new generation Skoda Octavia liftback with a hybrid powerplant.
Recall that the presentation of the new generation Skoda Octavia was held on November 11 at the National Gallery in Prague. The fourth generation Skoda Octavia has grown in size – it is longer and wider than its predecessor. Thanks to the new Skoda design language, the popular liftback boasts even more emotionality, and a completely new interior concept combines outstanding functionality and a unique amount of space with high-quality materials and thoughtful functions, even in the smallest details. In addition, several new assist systems highlight the brand’s innovative capabilities in the compact car segment.
Even during the presentation, the company said that at the time of entering the market, the novelty will be available in Active, Ambition and Style trim levels. Later, in 2020, the off-road version of the Scout and the sporty Octavia RS will be added to the series.
Today, the automaker announced the release of the new Skoda Octavia RS with the prefix iV. It means that the car will be electrified. It is with this name that two new models are released – the city speedster Skoda Citigo iV and the hybrid version of the flagship Superb iV brand. The company only noted that the fourth generation of Octavia will soon be supplemented with the first RS performance model equipped with a hybrid power plant. There is no information on the date and place of the debut.
