Skoda will produce a crossover coupe body built on the base of the Kodiaq SUV in 2018. This is reported by the publication PCauto, which published a snapshot of the plan with new models of the Czech mark for the Chinese market.
At the moment, the coupe crossover has the working symbol Kodiaq GT, but the serial model may get a different name. The basis of the novelty will be the same modular platform MQB concern Volkswagen, which is built ordinary Kodiaq. Apparently, he has a crossover to borrow and a line of aggregates.
Skoda Kodiaq GT will be an affordable alternative to the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. First of all, the model will be for China, but it is possible that the crossover will appear in other markets as well.
Skoda Kodiaq is offered with two gasoline engines with a working capacity of 1.4 and 2.0 liters, developing 150 and 180 hp in accordance. In addition, a two-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 150 horsepower is available. All motors are combined with a robotic gearbox with two clutches.
