Skoda showed off its new five-door Scala hatchback. The interior of the car will be performed in the style presented at the Paris Motor Show Vision RS. The machine will receive a large 10.3-inch touchscreen display for the devices and the new generation MIB infotainment system with a 9.2-inch screen that supports MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay.
The hatchback will have a surface with a texture imitating crystal structures, and various upholstery options, including a new microfiber coating. Such interior design will be typical for all future models of the Czech brand.
The luggage compartment will be 467 liters. With the rear seats folded, this figure will increase to 1,410 liters.
The driver will be available a set of Skoda Connect with Google Earth maps, a remote control service machine from a smartphone and a set of applications to communicate with the phone. The software will be updated “by air” – through the cloud service.
The car will be built on the platform A0 MQB. This chassis is already the basis of a number of compact and mid-size cars – from the new Volkswagen Polo to the Skoda Kodiaq crossover. The length of the machine will be 4362 mm and width – 1793 mm. The size of the wheelbase is 2649 mm.
One diesel and three petrol engines will enter into a ruler of motors of the car. Power units range from 90 to 150 liters. with. The 1.0, 1.5 l petrol units will work in conjunction with a five-speed gearbox and manual transmission with six steps. Optionally, customers will be offered a seven-speed robotic gearbox with double clutch. For a 1.6-liter diesel engine, a six-speed manual or robotized transmission is provided.
