Skoda has published a teaser video about the fourth-generation Octavia. The car will receive L-shaped LED running lights, LED foglights and new rear optics with dynamic turn signals. In addition, large letters with the name of the model will appear on the trunk lid – for the first time such a solution was used on a restyled Superb.
The car will be built on an upgraded MQB platform. The size of the wheelbase is 2686 millimeters. Earlier, the Czech company said that the liftback volume of the luggage compartment will be 600 liters, and the station wagon – 640 liters. The drag coefficient is 0.24 and 0.26, respectively.
Customers will be offered a three-cylinder gasoline unit with a working volume of 1 liter and a 1.5-liter “four”. The power of the units will be 110 and 150 liters. from. respectively. The older versions will receive a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a return of 190 horsepower. Also in the range of engines will include a 2.0-liter diesel engine with a return of 115, 150 and 200 horsepower. Motors can work with a six-speed manual gearbox. A seven-speed DSG with a 48-volt starter alternator is also available.
In addition, the new Octavia will receive two hybrid modifications. The power plant of such a car included a 1.4-liter supercharged engine and an electric motor. The total capacity of the hybrid is 204 or 245 forces. In some countries, they will offer a gas modification of the novelty with a 1.5-liter unit with a capacity of 130 horsepower.
Skoda will present the fourth-generation Octavia on November 11, 2019 at a special event in Prague. The start date of the sale and car prices will be announced later.
